If you had a c-section (about the care of the incision)???

I wanted to ask if any of you applied some type of topical cream on your incisions to help reduce them after surgery. I have heard 2 contradictory statements about this. The first was that you can use cortizone, though I’m not sure why that but I guess it can work as an anti-inflammatory, any other ideas of why cortizone? The second thing I heard is that you don’t want to put anything on bc its a higher risk for infection. That could be true too, unless its based on how long its been since the surgery itself and its to warn you against acting right away. In general I would’ve thought vitamin E oil, but then why not have that or another specifically scar cream mentioned instead of the cortizone (also mentioned were the neosporin strips). If you applied something, what was it and did you have to “wait” a certain time to apply it? Also PLEASE specify if it was your doctor’s suggestion or your own choice of what was applied!!!!!!

I did not apply anything to my scar and it is not even noticeable now. I seriously have to search for it. I am now pregnant with my second child and have no fear of another scar because they are not visible. If I were you I would just let nature take it’s course and let it heal it self.
